Awareness of possible reasons for conflict can help you limit it in your workplace. It seems that in today’s business world, workplace conflict comes more frequently and impacts more people than ever before.

The good news is there are some core basics which will help you as the leader manage the conflict better and arrive at a resolution quicker. The relationship is the reason some differences never rise to the level of a heightened conflict stage. When two people work together, they form some level of a relationship. At some point a stimulus arrives and puts stress in that relationship. Depending on the value each person places on the relationship determines whether this stimulus will reach the conflict stage requiring resolution by outside factors, or if the relationship is valued enough to talk through the situation.
